AI Is a Powerful Tool—but What Shall We Use It For?

AI is evolving so quickly that it sometimes feels hard to keep up. New tools appear every day, producing pictures, music, videos, writing and ideas.

It is undeniably powerful. But then comes the bigger question: what do I actually want to do with it?

A tool is not the destination

A camera can take pictures, clay can become pottery, and a computer can make music. AI is similar: knowing every feature is less important than finding something you want to explore.

Maybe it helps create a picture that existed only in your head. Maybe it organizes an idea, researches a mystery, or gives you the small push needed to begin.

Working together, imperfectly

AI also makes mistakes. Sometimes it delivers a very strange answer with magnificent confidence. “No, that isn’t quite it,” I say—and the conversation continues.

AI suggests. I choose. AI makes a shape. I adjust the parts that feel wrong. Through that back-and-forth, the thing gradually becomes mine.

You do not need a giant dream at the start. “I’d like to make something,” “I want to test this,” or “It might amuse a friend” is enough.

AI is a powerful tool for expanding possibility. But deciding what it is for remains our job.

So, what shall I try with AI today?
